We are here to guide you.
As a compassionate team dedicated to end-of-life care, we have the experience and empathy to support you through the process of saying goodbye
A gentle goodbye for the beloved pets of
the Greater Vancouver Area
Watermark supports local B.C. families who cherish their pets, and who value having choice in the way their story ends.
OUR MISSION
With compassion at the core of everything we do, we provide in-home euthanasia and water cremation services in the Greater Vancouver area to care for and honour your beloved pets during their final moments. We are dedicated to creating a space where love, gratitude, and lasting memories are cherished, ensuring your pet’s passing is peaceful, dignified, and surrounded by the comfort of home.
Through our gentle and environmentally conscious water cremation service, we extend our commitment to your family and the planet, offering a respectful and sustainable alternative to traditional aftercare. It is our privilege to walk this journey with you, honoring the bond you share with your pet and supporting you every step of the way.
OUR VISION
We see a world where saying goodbye to your pet is gentler. On you, on them, and on the planet.
We take care of our patients, their families, and the planet, by providing respectful and sustainable care.
We focus on end-of-life and aftercare.

END-OF-LIFE CARE
In-Home Euthanasia
Say goodbye on your terms. In-home euthanasia reduces your pet’s stress and allows them to pass peacefully in their favourite place, surrounded by the people who love them.
-
AFTERCARE
Aquamation
After they pass, we can keep your pet in our care throughout the Aquamation process. We can then return their ashes to either your family, the earth, or the sea. (The choice is yours.)
MEET REGAN
Dr. Regan Schwartz, DVM, MPH
Founder, Watermark Pet Hospice Services & Aquamation
Born and raised in Toronto, Dr. Regan Schwartz’s lifelong connection with animals began in a pet-filled household and evolved into a global veterinary career rooted in compassion and service. After earning a business degree and building a successful career in the wine industry as a Sommelier and Marketing Manager, she returned to her true calling—animal care.
She completed her pre-veterinary studies at Dalhousie University and went on to earn both a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Master of Public Health from St. George’s University. Her professional journey has taken her from One Health clinics in Grenada to fieldwork with Veterinarians Without Borders in Vietnam, World Vets in Nicaragua, and volunteer work in South Africa, Nepal, and with the BC SPCA. These experiences shaped her commitment to accessible, community-focused care.
As an Associate Veterinarian with the Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS), Dr. Schwartz developed a special interest in end-of-life care. With advanced training in palliative medicine and euthanasia, she founded Watermark to provide dignified, in-home support and environmentally responsible water cremation services for pets and the families who love them.
A member of multiple veterinary associations, Dr. Schwartz continues to pursue excellence in her field. At home, she shares her life with two rescue dogs, Puntulu and Shine, and her spirited foster-fail, Carol. Whether she’s hiking, kayaking, or photographing the natural world, her passion for animals and nature shines through every aspect of her life and work.

In our families' words…
“Thank you, Dr Schwartz, for your thoughtful guidance, compassion and gentle care throughout their journey.”
Saying goodbye to our elderly cat, Cat, and more recently for our senior dog, Tippy were two of the most painful moments of my life. I feel very fortunate that Dr Schwartz was able to provide them both with a home death surrounded by all that was familiar and comforting to them.
The beautiful deaths that you facilitated allowed Thano and I to process our grief and come to terms with their passing knowing they left this world in comfort and peace. It made all the difference in those final goodbyes.
We’ll always be grateful for the respect and dignity you took in handling Tippy after he was gone and during the aquamation process, this was a great comfort to us. He is back with us now, resting peacefully and with no more pain.
